Remembering the Heroic Teachers & Students Lost in the Florida Shooting

Over a week has passed since the tragic event at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland Florida. Students, parents, and teachers across the state and across the nation, march to fight for gun control and demand safer learning environments. An astonishing 18 shootings have taken place over the first 18 weeks of 2018, and teachers are going to work every day in fear that their school will be next if something doesn't change. That's not right!
However, while petitions are signed and protests hit the streets, mothers, fathers, wives, and siblings mourn the lives that were taken in a heinous act of violence by a disturbed teenager with legal access to an automatic rifle. We cannot forget to remember the heroic teachers and students who gave their lives protecting others in Florida on Valentine's Day. We keep the families of all the victims in our hearts and in our prayers, and we honor their bravery. They are and will always be missed, but hopefully their tragedy leads to a safer solution for the classmates and family they left behind.
