Shocking Video Reveals How Much Teachers Actually Spend On Their Classrooms

In this video from a new show — Gen R, by AJ+ — various teachers from across the country were asked:

How much of your own money do you spend on your classroom?

Teachers opened the doors of their classrooms to show how much came out of their own pockets, and they even showed their receipts as proof! From classroom supplies, subscriptions, classroom furniture, electronics, cleaning supplies, books, and even clothes for students in need, these teachers report spending between $500 to upwards of $7,000 in a school year!

The video goes on to address the major issue of teachers going on strike in 5 major states already this year, with threats of more to come, protesting against low wages and poor resources.
