Hilarious Mom Rips On Parents Complaining About School Supplies
The Back-to-School season has passed and the school year is well under way. But the debate about school supplies lasts throughout the year. Teachers know the turnover rate of school supplies. Cases of pencils can be consumed within weeks, sometimes days. Markers run dry when you need them most. Scissors, crayons, glue tops, paper, staples, push pins, you name it, GONE. Some believe the classroom is like the Bermuda Triangle, the way things seem to mysteriously vanish. But not to worry, teachers dig deep into their very shallow pockets to replace those materials throughout the year. So when parents have an issue with what's on the school supplies list, you can see why teachers might take that to heart. And when other parents go to bat for teachers, they get almost 70 million views on Facebook!
Meet all Teachers' Favorite Mom of the Year, Dena Blizzard of One Funny Mother. She's a New Jersey-based mom & comedian who posted a hilarious rant she recorded while school supplies shopping at her local Target.
Her video starts off:
“I’ve been noticing lately that when people are doing their back-to-school shopping, everybody’s complaining. And my thing is, listen, it is the end of August. I will give you anything to take my kids. I’ll get you a yellow binder, I’ll get you a red binder, I will tie-dye some shit.”
HAHA. YES!
Well, this was an obvious response to another mom/blogger Susannah Louis, who posted another viral video a few weeks before, complaining about the high costs of school supplies:
Dena's response to this was that teachers spend way too much of their own money on supplies for their students:
“We need to be thanking some teachers! The least you could do is buy a yellow binder. And you are all up in the internet complaining about your yellow binder.”
She goes on to fill her shopping cart with as many things as she can for teachers, a microwave, a pillow, a rug, even a suitcase for Spring Break!
AND THEN THE BEST PART...
“These teachers gotta put up with your kids all year and you guys are all ‘I don’t wanna buy the pencils,” she jokes as she opens up a mini bottle of liquor, “Buy the f-ing pencils!”
HOW AWESOME IS THIS LADY?
This is by far the best mom/back-to-school supplies video ever made. She not only stands up for teachers and all the out-of-pocket expenses they spend with their small budgets, but she makes us laugh and makes a lot of good points about complaining parents.
