In response to giving a student a misbehavior ticket the day before spring break, a parent accused me of trying to ruin his spring break trip. According to her, I must be having problems with my husband and was taking it out on her child.

Parent has her hands full with her teenager who is failing all classes except one by basically skipping, sleeping and refusing to work. Told me that her child was apparently a waste of my time. I wrote her explaining in great detail how much of a waste of my time that he/she wasn’t but that I cannot force students to work. Several correspondence later, the parent tells administrators that no one has communicated concerning his/her grades (lie). Also, proceeds to tell a mutual friend, Facebook buddies, that I need to relax and go smoke something ?? All because I bent over backwards to help them and refused to allow the same thing happen the next semester. I’m a teacher, not a glorified babysitter, “bottle feeding” teenagers that refuse to produce work…let me try not producing some lessons and see where that lands me…? that’s right, unemployed!

I ws told I was teaching lies because I taught the Trail of Tears. Apparently the Native Americans gave up their land willingly and walked themselves to another state.

Me: “Your child met all state standards for Kg, she will be prompted to 1st.”
Parent: " You are lying about her scores and her grades. I want her retained."

“What do you mean you wont take your lunch off to help my child? She needs help and you obviously dont care about your students.” The parent was a teacher…which shocked me.
